4% DA Hike In July 2023 for Central Government Employees – The Central Government of India increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees by 4%. The possibility of the hike was due to a significant jump in the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) for June 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DA is usually revised twice a year, in January and July. The last hike was implemented in March 2023, increasing it to 42%.The new DA is now 46% and will benefit around 47.58 lakh central<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new DA is now 46% and will benefit around 47.58 lakh central government employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AICPI ( All-India Consumer Price India) plays a crucial role in determining the percentage of the DA hike for government employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DA is granted to government employees, while Dearness Relief (DR) is for pensioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The importance of DA is in compensating against price rises and maintaining purchasing power for employees’ salaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several states, like Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Karnataka, have also increased DA for their employees recently, reflecting the significance of DA in ensuring fair compensation amid inflationary pressures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
