They are highly trained and skilled in various aspects of unconventional warfare, including counter-terrorism, direct action, reconnaissance, and hostage rescue. Here&#8217;s some information about the MARCOS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is only a special force that can operate on sea, land, and air which any trouble as they are specialized in Marine warfare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MARCOS were raised as the Indian Marine Special Forces (IMSF) in 1985. Two years later, they were renamed the Marine Commando Force (MCF). Their motto is \u2013 The Few The Fearless<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Becoming a MARCO or a Marine Commando is no cakewalk. Trainees have to undergo one of the world\u2019s toughest courses that can last between two-and-a-half to three years, depending on the specialization.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"MARCOS_Commando_%E2%80%93_Training_and_Selection\"><\/span>MARCOS Commando &#8211; Training and Selection<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The pre-training procedure, which includes a three-day physical fitness and aptitude test, sees almost 80% of applicants being screened out. A five-week-long \u2018hell\u2019s week\u2019 follows this, which includes sleep deprivation and intense physical training. Getting selected to be trained as a MARCO itself is difficult. Those who make it through, or don\u2019t quit on their own, actually proceed to the actual training<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Become_a_Marine_Commando_Marcos_Commando\"><\/span>How to Become a Marine Commando (Marcos Commando)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As such there is no direct exam for Marine Commando but You have to pass the Indian Navy general exam or technical exam in your first year, and now it is an Agniveer type of entry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you are selected in the Indian Navy as a sailor or officer, you can apply for Marine Commando.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then there is a process and selection for the Marine Commando, which is called a Marcos Preselection Test, which is very physically difficult. if anyone passes it, he is called for training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training of Marcos is very difficult physically and impossible, and if you make a simple mistake in the course, you will be out for the Marcos training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those that clear the selection then start undergoing the grilling course which includes basic training at INS Abhimanyu in Mumbai. The trainees then train in para jumps at the Paratrooper Training School in Agra and a diving course at Navy\u2019s Diving School in Kochi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Marine_Commando_Marcos_Commando_Probation\"><\/span>Marine Commando (Marcos Commando): Probation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After this basic training, they join \u2013 on probation \u2013 their respective groups for advance training. This includes training for counter insurgency, anti-hijacking, anti-piracy, clandestine operations, surveillance and reconnaissance, amphibious operations, unconventional warfare, and hostage rescue, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Marine_Commando_Marcos_Commando_%E2%80%93_Para_Jumbers\"><\/span>Marine Commando (Marcos Commando) &#8211; Para Jumbers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, MARCOS are the handful of the special forces from around the world that are capable of being para dropped into the sea with the full combat load. All MARCOS are static line para jump qualified and some are qualified for freefall (HALO\/HAHO) para jumps \u2013 High Altitude Low Opening and High Altitude High Opening.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Marine_Commando_Marcos_Commando_%E2%80%93_Weapons\"><\/span>Marine Commando (Marcos Commando) &#8211; Weapons<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The units are equipped with the Israeli Tavor TAR-21 assault rifle to which a 40 mm grenade launcher can be attached. The TAR-21 is weather sealed, so a MARCO can emerge out of the sea, weapon drawn and ready to shoot. The MARCOS are equipped with some of the best weapons in the world. A scary sight for the bad guys!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Marcos_Commando_Salary\"><\/span>Marcos Commando Salary<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Basic Salary as per the Indian Navy and, in addition, the following<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ships Driver Allowance: On top of their basic pay, they receive a ships driver allowance ranging from\u00a0Rs. 8,500 to 10,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marcos Allowance: In recognition of their unique role, Marine Commandos are granted a Marcos allowance of\u00a0Rs. 25,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Allowances for Different Deployment Areas:In Hard Areas, an additional\u00a020% of their Basic Pay\u00a0is provided.Highly Active Field Areas come with a\u00a0Highly Active Field Area Allowance\u00a0of\u00a0Rs. 16,900.Field Area personnel receive a\u00a0Field Area Allowance\u00a0of\u00a0Rs. 10,500.In designated \u201cPeace Areas,\u201d they receive a\u00a0Peace Area Allowance\u00a0of\u00a0Rs. 35,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Marcos_Commando_Height\"><\/span>Marcos Commando Height<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minimum Height is 156 Cms and there is some relaxation  for the candidates for North Eastern Region<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Marine_Commando_Marcos_Commando_%E2%80%93_T_Shirt\"><\/span>Marine Commando (Marcos Commando) &#8211;
